I think I got the call maybe two days after that, and was told it was Tomb Raider and Lara Croft. Which I knew was for motion-capture, but, again, I didn't know it was for Lara Croft and Tomb Raider. I got a call back and still not knowing if it was really for Tomb Raider, but it was really interesting, because it was me and two other girls audition, and they wanted to see the way we moved: the way we walked, the way we carried ourselves. I remember the audition was a video diary, which you saw Lara do some of those in the very first Tomb Raider. I remember reading the audition slides and thinking she did remind me of Lara Croft, so I went into the audition in shorts. How did you get that audition, and when did you realize you were actually trying out to play Lara Croft?Ĭamilla Luddington: I remember getting a call from my agent and being sent out on an audition, just like any audition, except the project name was originally called Krypted. The British actress' other credits include Blinded By the Light, Christopher Robin, The Duchess and Brideshead Revisited, and she's also set to play a key role in the upcoming Mission: Impossible 7. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj and Howard Bliss.Ītwell played Peggy Carter in the MCU, and recently reprised the role in animated form for Disney+'s What If.? Captain Carter was the focus of the first episode, but is expected to return for more adventure before the end of the season. ![]() Tasha Huo ( The Witcher: Blood Origin) will write and executive produce Tomb Raider, along with dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. The series is expected to catch up with the iconic adventurer after the events of the final game in the trilogy, and will not have anything to do with the live-action reboot starring Alicia Vikander, which currently has a sequel in the works. We first heard about the streamer's plans for a new anime show set in the same world as the most recent Square Enix video games back in January. Though we're sure many of you would rather see her play the character in live-action, Hayley Atwell ( Captain America: The First Avenger) is set to provide the voice of Lara Croft in Netflix's and Powerhouse's animated Tomb Raider series.
